In anticipation of Black Friday, Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge is set to launch an exclusive ‘To The Stars’ Fender Stratocaster, and guitar enthusiasts around the world are eager to get their hands on one of the 300 available units.
The sleek and none-more-black Stratocaster will be released on November 24 at 9 am Pacific time, with its price yet to be disclosed. Named after the company DeLonge has overseen since 2017, ‘To The Stars’ encompasses divisions in both entertainment and scientific and aerospace-oriented research. The limited-edition guitar will be exclusively available for purchase on the company’s website, where DeLonge also offers a variety of merchandise.
This Black Friday release is not the only signature Fender associated with DeLonge this year. Earlier, he surprised fans with a miniature replica of the guitar featured in Blink-182’s “Dammit” music video. While the highly anticipated return of his classic Daphne Blue signature was eventually realized, the Tom DeLonge Signature Strat also made its debut this year. The signature model, available in Surf Green, Daphne Blue, Graffiti Yellow, and Black finishes, maintains the straightforward “one knob and one pickup” setup reminiscent of the original.
Blink-182 marked their return this year with the release of “One More Time,” their first album featuring DeLonge in over a decade. Prior to the album’s release, DeLonge opened up about his contemplation of leaving the music scene until co-vocalist and bassist Mark Hoppus was diagnosed with stage four diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in 2021. DeLonge revealed, “I remember telling my wife, ‘I don’t think I’m ever going to play music again, I don’t think I’m ever gonna tour again,’ until Mark told me he was sick, and then I was like, that’s the only thing I wanted to do.”
