Havertown, PA — The Kelly Center is set to host a free Havertown Drum Circle on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, inviting the community to join Drum Circle Facilitator Tim Simmons for an evening filled with rhythm and camaraderie.
Tim Simmons, a Havertown-based musician, educator, writer, and artist, will guide participants through the transformative experience of drumming together. The event aims to synchronize heartbeats and breathing, fostering a sense of community and deepening interpersonal connections. Attendees, regardless of their drumming expertise, are encouraged to partake in the musical celebration.
The inclusive nature of the gathering welcomes participants of all experience levels. Tim Simmons will provide drums for those without, though attendees are encouraged to bring their own percussion instruments — whether traditional drums, improvised pots and pans, wooden spoons, or even buckets.
Simmons, the music teacher at DV Friends in Paoli, PA, and the author of Serafine Finds a Song, a storybook and curriculum guide promoting musical improvisation, brings a wealth of musical expertise to the event.
Not only an opportunity to explore the joy of rhythm, but the Havertown Drum Circle also serves as a platform for community-building and inspiration. Making noise with friends takes center stage, promising a lively and engaging evening for all participants.
The event is open to the public, free of charge, with donations welcomed to support the Kelly Center. Attendees are invited to immerse themselves in the rhythmic festivities, discovering the power of communal drumming and the unique connections it forges.
