In a bold and innovative move, New York-based rapper and producer Cash Cobain has reimagined André 3000’s flute-centric compositions from his recent release, “New Blue Sun.” The 90-minute album, featuring collaborations with artists like Nate Mercereau, Surya Botofasina, and Deantoni Parks, presented André 3000 exploring a musical direction dominated by flute melodies.
Despite André 3000’s declaration of feeling “inauthentic” rapping at the age of 48, Cash Cobain saw an opportunity to infuse a new energy into the project. Taking the opening track, “I Swear, I Really Wanted To Make A Rap Album But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time,” Cash Cobain has ingeniously transformed it into a vibrant drill track titled “ASSON3000,” featuring the vocal talents of Vontee The Singer.
This audacious remix showcases Cash Cobain’s ability to bridge genres, bringing André 3000’s flute-driven compositions into the contemporary drill music landscape. “ASSON3000” stands as a testament to the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of hip-hop, where artists like Cash Cobain continue to push boundaries and create innovative fusions.
