In a showcase of extraordinary skill and musical prowess, the Karol Lipiński International Violin Competition has crowned its champions for the year 2023. This prestigious event, welcoming violinists from around the world aged 17 to 33, unfolded in Wrocław, Poland, from November 26 to December 2.
Outstanding Achievements Recognized:
Taking the coveted first prize is the exceptionally talented Karolina Podorska. Her remarkable performance not only earned her acclaim but also a prize of PLN 18,000. As part of her winnings, she is granted the esteemed opportunity to perform alongside the Józef Elsner Opole Philharmonic Orchestra during its 2024/25 season. Additionally, Podorska is set to captivate audiences with a solo recital at the National Forum of Music.
The second prize was claimed by the highly skilled Barbara Żołnierczyk, who receives a well-deserved reward of PLN 12,000. Furthermore, she secures a solo performance opportunity with the Józef Wiłkomirski Sudecka Philharmonic Orchestra in the upcoming 2024/25 concert season.
Honoring Excellence:
Milena Pioruńska secured the third prize, a testament to her outstanding talent, accompanied by a prize of PLN 8,000. Reika Sato received the distinction award, earning PLN 2,000 for her exceptional contribution to the competition.
These remarkable musicians emerged triumphant after competing against 18 initial candidates, selected based on their exceptional scores in the preliminary rounds. The competition showcased a diverse array of talents, making the victory even more commendable.
