MIDLAND, MI — A musical spectacle unfolded as approximately 200 Mid-Michigan piano students graced the stage at the Midland Center for the Arts during the 33rd annual KeyboardFest. Hosted by the Mid-Michigan Music Teachers Association, this event provided young pianists with a unique opportunity to showcase their talents on some of the finest pianos globally.
The essence of KeyboardFest lies in fostering ensemble skills, with each pianist performing alongside a partner on one of the 12 meticulously arranged pianos on the Center’s stage. A total of two dozen players participated in this musical extravaganza, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the Mid-Michigan musical community.
In a remarkable collaboration with the Steinway Gallery of Detroit, KeyboardFest featured performances on Steinway pianos, renowned for their exceptional quality and craftsmanship. The young talents, given the chance to play on these world-class instruments, experienced a unique opportunity to explore their musical prowess.
The Mid-Michigan Music Teachers Association orchestrated this concert with the aim of not only providing a platform for the region’s piano prodigies but also nurturing their ensemble skills.
